Alas de Amor is our outreach program to the children of Puerto Palomas, Mexico
Puerto Palomas has many impoverished families. You might think that public education in Mexico is free, but it is not. Not only do the parents have to pay tuition fees, they also have to buy school uniforms, athletic uniforms, dress shoes, sports shoes, and school supplies for their kids. Many simply cannot afford it. Since we started this program of helping these families, we have kept over 100 children in school each year.
For the 2025-26 school year, we have 170 students!
They all need sponsors. If a sponsor can pay $45 per month for Jr. High or $55 per month for a High School student, that is one more student that will stay in school.
We want more than this for them. Sponsored students are required to be involved in their local church to help them emotionally and spiritually. We meet regularly with Pastors, students, and parents to encourage them and to help address any special problems they may have.
